OSU on Sunday (Week 14)

Last Sunday it was a former Buckeye on the defensive side of the ball making the play of the week that lead to his team winning, this Sunday, an offensive player made the plays to lead his team to victory.

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Ted Ginn Junior redeemed himself for dropping 2 potential touchdown passes last week against the New Orleans Saints, to catch 2 this week in the first quarter alone against the Atlanta Falcons.

The scores went for 46 and 74 yards. They were his only catches in the game. His teammate Corey “Philly” Brown had 3 catches for 59 yards and 1 rush for 9 yards. Panthers safety Kurt Coleman had another interception, his 7th of the season, and 5th straight game with a pick. He also collected 9 tackles. The Panthers are now 13-0 after beating the Atlanta Falcons 38-0.

Linebacker Ryan Shazier had 7 tackles (4 assisted), defensive lineman Cam Heyward collected 2 tackles, 1 sack and 1 pass batted down, while safety Will Allen made 5 tackles and a 1 sack for the Pittsburgh Steelers in their 33-20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Bengals Kicker Mike Nugent scored 8 points on two extra points,  a 46 yard and a 27 yard field goal in the loss. He missed a 54 yarder that would’ve put the Bengals on the board for the first time of the day.

Cleveland Browns receiver Brian Hartline caught 8 passes for 107 yards from Johnny Manziel in the Browns 24-10 win over the San Francisco 49ers. Hartline suffered a broken collarbone during the game, and is now being placed on the injured reserved list. On the defensive side, Cleveland safety Donte Whitner had 3 tackles and a pass batted down in the win.

Cornerback Bradley Roby had 2 tackles and a pass batted down for the Broncos in their 15-12 loss at home to the Oakland Raiders.

St. Louis Rams linebacker James Laurinaitis had 8 tackles in their 21-14 victory over the Detroit Lions. Safety Malcolm Jenkins also had 8 tackles for the Philadelphia Eagles in their 23-20 win over the Buffalo Bills.
