NFL Bucks, Week 4

Several Buckeye Alumns made some key contributions for their NFL teams this week.

Thursday night, Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Cam Hayward grabbed 7 tackles and forced a fumble that was recovered by Ross Cockrell to set up a touchdown to put the Steelers up 13 points. In Steelers safety Will Allen also had 7 tackles, but the Steelers lost 20-23 in overtime.

Across the pond in London, Miami Dolphins tight end Jake Stoneburner caught an 8 yard touchdown pass, his 2nd of the season, in their 14-27 loss against AFC East division rival New York Jets. On the other sideline, rookie wide receiver Devin Smith made 2 catches for 14 yards for the Jets in his second game of the 2015 season since returning from injury. 

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Ted Ginn, Jr. had a big day down in Tampa. Ginn only caught two passes, but, both for touchdowns. The first a 7 yarder, the second an 11 yarder, where he showed off the speed that made him a legend in Scarlet and Gray. The Panthers are now 4-0 after beating the Buccaneers 37-23.

Some other key former Buckeye performances…

Cincinnati Bengals kicker Mike Nugent scored 4 points on 4 extra points in the Bengals 36-21 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. They are now 4-0.

St. Louis Rams linebacker James Laurinaitis collected 5 tackles in their surprising 24-22 victory over then undefeated Arizona Cardinals.

Cornerback Bradley Roby picked up 5 tackles for the Denver Broncos in their 23-20 win over the Minnesota Vikings. The Broncos are now 4-0.

Strong safety Donte Whitner collected 7 tackles for the Cleveland Browns in their 27-30 loss at the San Diego Chargers.
